Seoul: Korea Republic coach Shin Tae-yong named his 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia on Saturday following a 3-1 loss to Bosnia-Herzegovina that left young star Lee Seung-woo admitting he still had lessons to learn ahead of the country’s opening game against Sweden.
Shin included the 20-year-old former Barcelona starlet in his squad alongside stalwarts Son Heung-min, Ki Sung-yueng and Koo Ja-cheol, but cut Crystal Palace winger Lee Chung-yong, Tianjian Quanjian’s Kwon Kyung-won and full-back Kim Jin-su of Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors from his selection.
The announcement comes the day after a defeat at the hands of Bosnia-Herzegovina in which Lee Jae-sung cancelled out Edin Visca’s opener before the Turkey-based winger went on to score twice more to complete his hat-trick.

Jeonju: Korea Reoublic suffered a 3-1 friendly defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium on Friday.
Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min was unable to make an impact as Edin Visca scored in the 28th minute, just before half-time and then in the 79th to steal the show.
It made for a low-key send-off for Shin Tae-yong's Korea Republic, who were playing their final home warm-up and will face holders Germany, Mexico and Sweden in Group F in Russia 2018.
After Visca opened the scoring, midfielder Lee Jae-sung levelled for the hosts two minutes later, only for the Bosnian midfielder to grab his second just moments before half-time.
And Visca, who plays for Istanbul Basaksehir in Turkey, dashed any hopes of a late comeback when he completed his treble in the 79th minute.
The teams traded chances early on. Roma striker Edin Dzeko fired just over the bar in the 12th minute, and fluffed a one-on-one opportunity nine minutes later.
Son went close for Korea Republic in the 27th minute, when he danced past two defenders but was denied by goalkeeper Ibrahim Sehic at point-blank range.
One minute later, Eldar Civic's cross failed to find Dzeko, but it deflected off defender Kim Min-woo and found Visca's foot to make it 1-0 to Bosnia.
The home team bounced back near the half-hour mark as Lee, fed by Hwang Hee-chan, flicked over Sehic.
But in first-half injury time, Haris Duljevic caught the Korean defence napping with a long cross for Visca, who easily beat goalkeeper Kim Seung-Gyu for a 2-1 lead.
Korea Republic exerted pressure in the second half but were wasteful in attack and they were made to pay when Visca struck 11 minutes from time.

Kuala Lumpur: The Samurai Blue head into the 2018 FIFA World Cup on the back of a comprehensive continental qualifying campaign. Despite recent changes at the helm, there remains a reliance on the golden generation with household names back in the fold.
Overview
Japan’s preparation for Russia 2018 has not been the most straightforward of Asia's representatives, with coach Vahid Halilhodzic departing the helm just two months before the competition to be replaced with technical director Akira Nishino.
The former Gamba Osaka boss attempted a new three-man defence in his first match in charge, a 2-0 defeat at home to Ghana on May 30, as well as offering a reprieve to big names Shinji Kagawa, Keisuke Honda, and Shinji Okazaki, whose places were in doubt under Halilhodzic.
